Jim Schoenfelder

Co-CEO

Jim is the co-founder and President of 1st Electric Contractors. He brings over 40 years of electrical industry experience to 1st Electric.

Jim recently served as a Regional Director for the Mountain West Region of our national electrical contractor association, Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC).

Prior to 1st Electric, Jim was the Construction & Sales Manager at AALL Electric where his leadership helped increase the annual sales revenue from $11 million to $34 million. Jim was also responsible for directing the operations of AALL’s 20-person management staff and oversaw the construction staff of 300 electricians.

​Jim is McCormick, TRF, Con-Est, and Accubid estimating systems certified. He has also received extensive field supervision training and holds a current Master Electrician license from the State of Colorado.

​In his free time, Jim enjoys being involved in community outreach projects, traveling all over the world, and playing a round of golf whenever the sun is shining.

Lindsey Cox

Co-CEO

Lindsey joined the 1st Electric team in 2007 as an Administrative Assistant. She has worn many hats, including Service Department Coordinator, Human Resources Manager, and Office Manager. In 2012, Lindsey was appointed to a corporate officer position.

As our Secretary/Treasurer, Lindsey oversees the accounting and human resources staff and is responsible for the management and development of 1st Electric’s two most valuable resources: its finances and its people! Lindsey has also played an important role in shaping the future of the electrical industry through her past service as both the Vice President and President of the Board of Directors for Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM).

​Lindsey is both a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), two of the highest professional credentials in Human Resources. She is also a candidate for the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) exam.

​In Lindsey’s free time, she enjoys participating in her son’s school and extracurricular activities, hiking with her family, and horseback riding

Doug Link

Vice President of Operations

Doug has been an essential member of the 1st Electric team since the day our doors opened in 2002. He started at 1st Electric as a Project Manager and was subsequently appointed to a corporate officer position in 2012. As our VP of Ops, Doug is responsible for project success and profitability across all of our projects. He manages our construction management staff of 3, as well as our 120 field electricians.

Prior to 1st Electric, Doug was a Project Manager at AALL Electric where he successfully managed the completion of $6,000,000 of new multi-family projects. In Doug’s over 25 years’ experience in the electrical construction trade, he has been involved in all aspects of new construction, including over 20 years of multi-family construction management experience. Doug holds a current Master Electrician license from the State of Colorado.

​In Doug’s free time he enjoys supporting his kids’ athletic and school activities, as well as traveling with his wife.

Gregg Banks

Preconstruction Manager

Gregg has dedicated over 15 years of his career in the electrical construction industry to 1st Electric. Over the years, Gregg has been a Superintendent, Project Manager, and an Estimating/Sales Manager at 1st. As our Preconstruction Manager, Gregg is responsible for all safety policies and procedures and is accountable for discovering and resolving constructability issues during the construction and preconstruction phases of our projects.

​Prior to 1st Electric, Gregg was a Project and Preconstruction Manager at Greiner Electric where he oversaw the construction of some unique-to-Colorado projects, including The Glass House and the Columbine High School Memorial. Gregg studied Construction Management at South Eastern Louisiana State and received his Electrical Project Management Certificate from Purdue University.

​In Gregg’s free time, he enjoys hiking and camping in the summer, and skiing Colorado’s Rocky Mountains in the winter.

Jay Schoenfelder

Senior Project Manager

Jay has been a key member of the 1st Electric team since 2003. He first came on as a Foreman and, after successfully completing a number of profitable jobs, he was promoted to Project Manager. Jay’s extensive experience managing multi-family projects at 1st Electric over the last 20 years has provided the tools necessary to run progressively larger and more complex projects, as well as oversee the training and development of our other Project Managers in his current role as Senior Project Manager.

​Prior to 1st Electric, Jay was Vice President of Schoenfelder Electric where he ran multiple commercial and industrial jobs. Jay completed all four years of specialized electrical construction education at Independent Electrical Contractors’ Rocky Mountain Chapter (IECRM). Jay has over 25 years’ experience in the electrical construction industry and is a licensed Journeyman Electrician in the State of Colorado.

​In Jay’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, as well as hunting, snowboarding, and traveling.
